There’s a crafts fair going on this weekend in Rittenhouse Square, so we’re going to cancel Rittenhop due to lack of space and general noise. Have a lovely day tomorrow, and hopefully we’ll see you next week!

This week PhB will be at our normal location at the Swing (the second floor of the Adrienne Theater, 2030 Sansom St), with our normal times (a lesson from 8:30 to 9:30 followed by a social dance, and, of course, our normal price (only $5 for the whole night!).
The first piece of news is, of course, the lesson. It will be taught by Erin and Moriah and will be going over open ended dancing. Specifically it will have a focus on ways that follows can contribute to a dance without resorting to backleading or breaking connection.
Secondly, this week features the return of guest DJ Wesley Cook! He DJed once last month and, because he’s passing back through town, will be able to join Erin on the DJ stage! You can check out his website here: http://www.wacsonwacsoff.com/

This week is the first Monday of the month and so it’s PhB House Party time!
The times are the same (lesson from 8:30 to 9:30 and then dancing till midnight) but the address is 953 N 6th street and, of course, no admission cost for house parties!
Also, as is our tradition, this Monday will be a feedback class run by Jon and Erin! Feedback classes are a great way to get personal immediate feedback on your dancing and encourage everybody of all levels to attend!
And, finally, our DJs this week will be Erin and Ben!

This week is a special “We can’t go to the Adrienne” PhB House Party time. So a big thanks to the super-fantastic hosting of Erin, Ramona, and Jeff who are opening their home for us! The times are the same (lesson from 8:30 to 9:30 and then dancing till midnight) but the address is 953 N 6th street. There’s no admission for house parties, but if you are feeling kind and generous we would love for you to take the money that you would have spent on admission and donate it to the Blues Over the Rainbow project that some of the dancers here in Philly have been working on! This week is also week three of Josh Brody’s blues through choreo series! You don’t have to have made it to the first two weeks to come to the third, and it’s going to be a TON of fun!

Dance the Choreography or Choreography the Dance?: For the next series at PhB, we’re going to play with the format slightly. Many dance styles use choreography as a way to teach and pass on technique. (Think shim sham, tranky doo, big apple, etc.) For the next 3 weeks, we’ll work on a series of original choreographies, each routine highlighting a different aspect of Blues Technique! I promise edumacation, fun, and quite possibly zombies!
I can’t wait to dance with you all!

Starting this Tuesday 4/3 at 8-9PM, I (Jon) will be teaching a series on Cool Six- and Eight-Count Moves for All Levels!
Dancers have been asking to learn some new moves, and we are going to dive in head first with this series! We will cover the fundamentals of leading and following LOTS of moves. As an all-levels series, we will allow students to go at their own pace. There will be plenty of material for more advanced dancers while beginners are working out the kinks. Don’t miss it!
Prerequisites: Students of all levels who have taken at least a few novice Lindy classes are welcome, but this series will be more comfortable for beginner and intermediate dancers. Everyone should be comfortable dancing through a whole song and executing swing outs.
Class 1 (4/3): Basic Six-Count Moves that Everyone Needs to Know
