Each dance is $5 for complete admission to the lesson and social dancing.
Class Descriptions
Saturday Class 1: Solo Jazz Routine (Mike Faltesek)
With his characteristic vigor and panache, Falty will kick all y’alls booties with a solo jazz routine for the ages. Expect to sweat and holler!
Saturday Class 2: Swivels & Swingout Variations (Nina Gilkenson & Michael Seguin)
According to international standards, the bad-assity of Nina Gilkenson’s swivels exceeds that of all other swivels combined. Followers should be well aware that acquiring some percentage of said bad-assity would be in their best interest. Oh, also, Michael will be throwing in some swingout variations for those leads who are not sure whether it will be in their own interest to assist followers in learning to swivel like Nina (hint: it will).
Saturday Class 3: How to Dance Faster (Falty & Nina)
Since you registered for Hot Mess, we’re assuming you like dancing fast. Well, get ready to like it more. This class will introduce you to some handy techniques, concepts and drills for dancing better, faster.
Saturday Class 4: Partnered Charleston Moves (Michael & Nina)
Partnered! Charleston! Moves!
Saturday Masters Class (Falty & Nina)
The instructors will be selecting as few as 12 dancers to participate in these classes, and will present material that they deem appropriate to the group they’ve selected.
Sunday Class 1: Solo Jazz Improvisation (Falty)
Mike Faltesek is known for being irrepressibly musical in his solo and partnered movement. If you’re lucky, in this class he’ll reveal a few tricks, to point you towards the secret magic fountain of solo improvisational bliss. Expect to move fast and be challenged.
Sunday Class 2: Partnered Routine (Michael & Nina)
Michael and Nina are known for being wacky, energetic, and technically challenging. Expect this Lindy Hop and Charleston routine to be the same.
Sunday Class 3: Playing with Rhythm (Falty & Nina)
Falty threw this class at Philadelphia at 2010’s "Falty Philly Invasion" like a hand grenade of goodness, and we have never recovered. We suspect that the addition of Nina will make it more like an atomic bomb of goodness. Take this class, and you’ll never have another boring dance.
Sunday Class 4: How to be a Badass (Michael, Nina, Falty, and special guest Adam Boehmer)
We can’t say exactly what will happen in this class, but here’s what we asked for: “Hey guys, we were hoping you could join forces and teach everyone at the event how to have more fun, dance crazier, and maybe instigate some friendly dance battles on occasion.” I have a feeling you won’t want to miss it.
Sunday Masters Class (Michael & Nina)
The instructors will be selecting as few as 12 dancers to participate in these classes, and will present material that they deem appropriate to the group they’ve selected.
