Josh Brody and Moriah Eberhard
Moriah: 970-227-0676, moriah.eberharrd@gmail.comJosh: brody.josh@gmail.com
Moriah is the product of ballroom dancing parents (gasp!) and has been dancing since she was very young. She gained experience in jazz, modern, clogging, color guard, balboa, lindy hop, blues and tango. Her heart is now drawn to swing and blues. She began teaching dance in 2004 at Colorado State University’s Swing Society. Since then she has been involved with such events and groups as Muddy Water Blues, BLAM!, The Bloomers and Lindy and Blues Philadelphia. Moriah enjoys sharing her love of dance with students in creative ways that invite exploration of the expressive nature of dance that comes from a foundation in technique.
Dan Repsch
267-252-7567, daniel.repsch@gmail.comDan has spent the last few years traveling the country to dance, teach, DJ, and generally goof off. Since his start in the Penn State swing club, he’s won a whole bunch of competitions and earned a reputation as a national instructor of Charleston, Lindy Hop, and Blues. Dan’s classes focus primarily on innovation and how to create the most comfortable connection between partners, because that’s what makes dancing fun. He likes to challenge his students, and help them create their unique style.
Jon Darvill and Carsie Blanton
Carsie: carsieblanton@gmail.com
Jon and Carsie are both musicians, and approach every dance with a desire to listen and contribute to each song like a member of the band. They both started out as Lindy Hoppers, and soon came to love the connectedness, precision, and improvisational nature of blues. They met at a blues dance in 2006, danced all night, and fell in love. In 2007, Jon and Carsie became founding members of LaB (www.lindyandblues.com), Philadelphia’s Lindy Hop and blues headquarters. In addition to four weekly dances, they help run annual LaB events including Blues Muse, Hot Mess, and LaBLove. They teach blues weekly in Philadelphia, as well as at workshops in San Francisco, Austin and Chicago, and at national events like Enter the Blues (Atlanta, GA) and Lindy Focus (Asheville, NC). They live together in Philadelphia with their two dogs, Domino and LMNOP.
Kerry Genese
kerry@phillylindyhop.com
Kerry began her Lindy Hop journey in the fall of 2006 at The College of New Jersey. Soon after, she discovered social dancing and the dance community in Philadelphia. She fell in love. She has since moved to Philadelphia to dance and has volunteered for the last two years as an organizer and teacher for the organization Lindy and Blues. LaB (www.lindyandblues.com) runs several weekly dances and annual events in Philly. It’s purpose is to promote, support, and grow the swing dancing community in Philadelphia.
Teaching is an integral part to how Kerry expresses her connection and love for the scene. She wants nothing more than to share what she does know, help others find the answers to the things she doesn’t, and happily exude a love of dance.
